Fresh iPad Mini 4 renders surface, enhanced features expected [Video]
The Apple iPad Mini 3 from last year is going to be replaced by the iPad Mini 4. In 2014, the iPad Mini 3 came with very minor upgrade over the iPad Mini 2. Hence, the upcoming iPad Mini 4 is rumored to arrive with enhanced features. Fresh 3D CAD renders of the tablet shows it will it will be slimmer device.
The fresh renders of the iPad Mini 4 has been uploaded by @OnLeaks on Twitter. Apple Insider states that @OnLeaks has a consistent track record of spilling out accurate details of Apple products before they are officially unveiled.
In the past, he had accurately predicted the specs of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 before their release. In April, he had revealed the some photos of the chassis of the purported iPad Mini 4. According to @OnLeaks, the thickness of the IPad Mini 4 will be 6.13 mm. The larger iPad Air 2 that was released last year also measures 6.1 mm.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, the KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo had recently suggested that the iPad Mini will be a smaller edition of the iPad Air 2. It also expected to retain the hardware components of the iPad Air 2. It will come preloaded with the new iOS 9 operating sytem.
The older iPad Mini 3 features a 5 MP camera, but its forthcoming successor will be fitted with a refreshed rear camera of 8 MP. The tablet will be powered by Apple A8 chipset and will come with support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.
Rumours are rife that Apple will be organizing a special launch event for the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus on Sept. 9. In the recent years, Apple has always launched its new iPads in October. However, it is also being said that the new line of iPads will be also showcased on Sept. 9.
Speculations also indicate that a 12.9-inch iPad Pro may also get announced at the launch event. As of this writing, Apple has not made any official announcement on the iPad Mini 3 successor.
