'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Premiere Spoilers: What To Expect In Episode 1

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 is set to premiere on April 12. Here is a look at what to expect in the first episode of the season. Some of the characters will have to come to terms with the new world they are in after the shocking events of the previous season, and others will face new challenges. [Spoiler Alert!]

The season premiere will focus on Cersei, Jamie, Tyrion, Daenerys and Jon Snow. According to the official synopsis by HBO, Arya Stark will only reach Braavos in the second episode and the fans may not get to see much of the character in episode 1.

“Cersei and Jaime adjust to a world without Tywin,” reads the official synopsis. After the death of Tywin Lannister in the previous season, the Lannister siblings will have to find a way to lead the family and the kingdom together. The first episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 5 may also feature a funeral scene of Tywin.

“Varys reveals a conspiracy to Tyrion,” according to the official synopsis of the first episode. In one of the promo videos of the upcoming season, fans of the franchise may have seen Varys telling Tyrion that men of talent will be needed in the war that is coming. The trailer of this season also showed the Master of Whisperers saying that Tyrion could help someone else sit on the Iron Throne.

According to the books written by George R. R. Martin, on which the TV series is based, Varys will convince Tyrion to help Daenerys. The trailers of “Game of Thrones” Season 5 also show Tyrion seeing one of Danny’s dragons for the first time. However, the khaleesi will have her own problems in Meereen this season.

“Daenerys faces a new threat to her rule,” according to the official synopsis. The threat will be in the form of a group of rebels in the city who are angry with Danny for ending the slave trade. A group calling itself the “Sons of the Harpy” will start killing Daenerys’ soldiers and her supporters in the city. The trailers of the upcoming season show men wearing golden masks, murdering people. This may be the shadowy group that threatens Danny.

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 premiere episode will also focus on the problems in the north. Jon Snow is at the Wall with Mance Rayder’s army having surrendered to Stannis Baratheon in the previous season. Episode 1 of the upcoming season may feature Jon trying to convince Mance to swear allegiance to Stannis. One of the promo videos of the season shows Jon telling Mance to put aside his pride for the sake of the Wildlings.
