'Game of Thrones' Season 6: Arya Stark has fewer scenes; Melisandre says nothing in episode 1 beginning
Cast members Liam Cunningham and Maisie Williams teased some details about “Game of Thrones” Season 6 in a recent interview. Cunningham revealed that Melisandre will not be saying anything in the beginning of episode 1, while Williams said that Arya will be getting less air time this time around.
In an interview with Express, Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) said that the premiere episode will start with Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) not saying anything. The silence of the character is understandable after the events of the previous season. Melisandre may not have much to say after returning to Castle Black.
“There’s absolutely amazing stuff coming up, just so left of field, unexpected,” Cunningham teased. The actor pointed out that one of the “trademarks” of the show is to put fan favourite characters in “unpredictable” and “unexpected” situations.
For the first time, a major part of the next season will not be based on “A Song of Ice and Fire,” as the TV series has overtaken the book series and the next book “Winds of Winter” is yet to be completed. The future of Arya Stark (Williams) in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, however, can be predicted to some extent based on the books.
Williams said that her character will be seen in fewer episodes in the next season, compared to last time. The actress also revealed that all the characters on the show will get “a nice arc,” with some characters getting “one epic episode” each. The actress also added that even though her scenes were “split-up,” Arya’s story still “flows.”
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is slated to premier on April 24. The fans are still eagerly waiting for the first full trailer. The producers have so far only released teasers for the next season. As always, the show promises more shocking deaths and it also teases bigger battles.
