'Outlander' Season 2: Jamie and Claire making love and more in new pictures
A new set of pictures from “Outlander” Season 2 has been released online. One of the pictures show Jamie and Claire making love and there is also a picture of Sam Heughan back to wearing a kilt.
The passionate romance between Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) continues in the next season. Pictures posted on Entertainment Weekly show the two characters on the bed embracing each other intimately. Balfe said that the sex scenes between her character and Jamie were an “important part of the story” and don’t feel “gratuitous.”
Some of the other pictures of the two characters tease the new French costumes and décor of the next season, which is vastly different from what the fans saw in the first season. Heughan admitted that he was initially “terrified” of wearing French costumes this time around, because he had seen a lot of “bad costume dramas” and was worried about what “fancy collars and cuffs” would look like on him. “What we’ve got here is just is wonderful,” he added later.
Balfe complemented her fellow cast member and said that Heughan had “no ego involved.” Heughan said that his character will come to terms with what happened to him in the previous season. “Something quite big happens and Jamie regains control over his life and destiny,” Heughan teased about “Outlander” Season 2.
Heughan is reading the books written by Diana Gabaldon, on which the TV series is based on and said that such source material was a “gift for an actor.” Cast member Tobias Menzies (Frank and Jack) praised the fans of the franchise for their support. “Of any work I’ve done, the fan support is on a whole other level,” Menzies said. “That’s an extraordinarily kind of warm bath to sit in.”
Executive producer Ronald D. Moore said that “Outlander” Season 2 was “much more complex” with a whole new set of cast members. The plot will focus heavily on politics and the Jacobite Rebellion.
