‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Casting Update Sparks Fan Ideas, Greyjoy And Tarly Stories In Discussion
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 is still a year away, but fans are already busy figuring out the characters who would make an appearance in the HBO version’s next chapter. A fan site reported character descriptions from a supposedly legit casting call, and now speculations are heating up.
In releasing casting call details from its sources, WatchersOnTheWall.com hinted at some possible “Game of Thrones” Season 6 spoilers. First on the list is a pirate -- “cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness.” The site links the description to Euron Greyjoy. A new Greyjoy in the mix could spell changes for one of the worst enemies of the Starks and Reek.
The second character in the fan site’s list is a father who is “centrally involved” in an already existing important character’s storyline. It so happens that Stannis has just spoken to Samwell Tarly about his father. The site believes this father is Randyll Tarly. The fan site also links three more characters to Sam’s family storyline.
The fan site’s list also includes a priest, who is also an ex-soldier. WatchersOnTheWall is looking into the possibility that this could be Septon Meribald. In “A Song of Ice and Fire” (ASOIAF), Septon Meribald is last seen in “A Feast for Crows,” the fourth book. His journey is linked to Brienne and Pod.
“Game of Thrones” Season 5 is already telling and altering some parts of “A Dance with Dragons,” the most recently published book in the ASOIAF series. Author George R.R. Martin has yet to finish the sixth book, “The Winds of Winter.” These things convince many viewers that HBO’s version is going to show more plot departures from the ASOIAF series. Still, when it comes to cast speculations, ASOIAF is still the fans’ reference.
“Game of Thrones” Season 5 still has three episodes left to air on HBO. This Sunday’s episode, “Hardhome,” brings the characters closer to the season’s biggest production.
