‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 spoilers: Jon Snow is Sansa’s only hope of escaping the evil clutches of Ramsay
Kit Harington and the “Game of Thrones” showrunners went to great lengths to keep Jon Snow’s fate a secret. Later, after the second episode of Season 6 aired, Harington apologised to his fans for lying about him leaving the show. However, after the Season 5 finale, Harington did say one truth and that was he was getting his hair shortened.
“I wanted to sell [the story that he was leaving the series] a bit more. I know this hairstyle this hair cut is very synonymous with the show. I know in the past I’d said I’d cut it off when I can. I wanted to appear with shorter hair straight away so it would sell the lie,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly.
[Spoiler Alert] On Sunday, “Game of Thrones” fans saw with rabid anticipation Melisandre’s (Carice van Houten) resurrection of Jon Snow. In the process, Melisandre cut strands of Snow’s hair and put them in the flames. As it seemed all hopes were lost and Snow loyalists along with Melisandre left the room, Snow’s dire wolf Ghost felt something and turned. That’s when Snow came to life with a gasp.
Now, it has been revealed that the hair Melisandre was chopping off from Snow’s head was not his own. Hair extensions were used to give him the same look as Season 5. He had cut his hair right after Season 5 ended. Season 6 will show Snow in a new hairstyle with a bun. Hair stylists will rejoice at the news as fans will throng salons to get the new Jon Snow haircut.
The third episode, titled “Oathbreaker,” will mostly be how men of the Night’s Watch and Jon Snow loyalists react to his resurrection. Moreover, it will also be interesting to see whether Snow will remain as he was or will be a changed man.
It is highly probable that Snow will change. But a lot is depending on Snow currently. Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) along with Podrick (Daniel Portman) and Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) are travelling to Castle Black in the hope that Snow will save them from the sadistic Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon). If certain spoilers are to be believed, Sansa will soon become pregnant with Ramsay’s child.
Evil Ramsay has already killed his father, Roose Bolton, stepmother Walda and his newborn half-brother. Sansa will not be spared lest she is caught by Ramsay. Her only hope is Jon Snow. Hence, a fight between Ramsay and Snow is a big possibility. As “Game of Thrones” has a knack of making evil win, fans do not want Sansa to be recaptured and tortured.
