HBO released its second “Game of Thrones” season 6 trailer and it is the most revealing one to date. Although the trailer does not throw any light on Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) fate and fans will be disappointed on that aspect, it does reveal a lot on how season 6 will unfold its deadly tale.

[Spoiler Alert] Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) states that a battle is the only choice left. He and Snow loyalists prepare for a standoff with Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale). Snow’s cold body is seen, albeit there's no movement.

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is definitely on a war path and she makes it clear by saying that she only thinks about what was taken from her. She is seen donning the dire wolf sigil of House Stark.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is stripped nude by the Dothrakis. However, Drogon is seen flying and probably coming to rescue the Mother of Dragons. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) exchanges words with the High Septon and bloodshed is evident as Jaime won’t mind spilling blood even in a holy place. The Sept of Baelor shall be stormed and there will be death.

Then there is the real battle between the living and the dead and White Walkers seem at an advantage. Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is back at his drinking self but seems in control of Mereen’s affairs. However, he does the unthinkable by going into the catacombs to free the two dragons Viseryon and Rhaegal. He believes that the dragons should not be left chained.

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is given a final chance in the House of Black and White and she is trained by the weird Waif.

Then there is The Mountain (Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson) or rather his Frankenstein shadow. He is seen stabbed by an unknown guy but it has little effect on him. He turns back and all hell breaks loose. Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is also seen telling King Tommen to show the enemies who the Lannisters really are. She definitely has full support of The Mountain and Jaime.

Importantly, there is a new Red Priestess in the new trailer and she is seen with Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) and Tyrion. Just like The Red Woman (Carice van Houten), this new Priestess may play a crucial role in the journey of Daenerys Targaryen to the Iron Throne.

“Game of Thrones” Season 6 hits screens April 24. It will premiere April 25 on showcase on Foxtel Australia.
