'Game of Thrones' Season 6: Tormund and Brienne scenes were deleted

One scene involving Tormund and Brienne in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has caught the attention of fans and the internet is abuzz with memes of the two characters. Kristofer Hivju has now revealed that there were more scenes of the two characters together, but were later deleted.

In an interview with Screen Crush, Hivju (Tormund) laughed when asked about his character’s crush on Brienne (Gwendoline Christie). “That was unexpected, huh?” he said. Hivju complimented Christie and said that they had a “lot of fun” doing their scenes together.

Hivju also revealed that some of the scenes of the two characters were deleted. He did not reveal what those scenes were about and if they involved his character trying to flirt with Brienne. He, however, promised that the fans will be able to see the deleted scenes when the extra material of the TV series is released, which may come with the DVD and Blu-Ray of “Game of Thrones” Season 6.

The actor pointed out that one of his dialogues in the episode “Hardhome” from the previous season revealed that he has daughters. The wars in the North prevented him from thinking about his personal life. Now that he has met a “match” in Brienne, he may have time to think about family again.

Hivju said that the shipper name he would choose for the possible romance between Tormund and Brienne is Briemund the Tarth Bane. The fans, however, are conflicted between Briemund and Torienne.

The actor did not reveal whether his character will go along with Brienne on her mission, or stay behind and help Jon Snow (Kit Harington). He conceded that the trailers show him in a battle, but did not wish to say who his character was fighting.

There are a lot of deaths featured in the current season and Hivju doesn’t confirm whether his character survives in the end. “Valar morghulis, all men must die. You never know,” the actor teased.

There is a big battle that is expected to take place between the forces that Jon Snow leads against the Boltons. The battle for Winterfell is only the beginning in “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The big war will be between the living against the army of the White Walkers.
