'Game of Thrones' season 7: Dragonpit scene confirmed with leaked picture of finale
Two concept art pictures of “Game of Thrones” season 7 have leaked online. The pictures confirm the Dragonpit scene that is supposedly featured in the finale episode. Many of the major characters on the show are expected to be a part of this scene, and it will set the stage for the final season of the show.
[Spoiler alert]
For readers who are unfamiliar, the Dragonpit is a massive building in King’s Laniding that once housed the dragons of Targaryens. Since the death of the dragons in Westeroes the building has not been used, and it is now a ruin.
Pictures posted on Reddit show a concept art from the TV series. The scene involves Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) waiting for Jon Snow (Kit Harington) at the entrance of the Dragonpit. The city still appears to be under the control of Cersei (Lena Headey), as there is a Lannister soldier guarding the door.
A reliable source for the show, Watchers on the Wall, confirms that the leaked pictures of “Game of Thrones” season 7 are legit. The report also points out that the pictures confirm a plot spoiler that was released online some time back.
A compilation of the plot leaks of the next season posted on Reddit, reveals that in the finale episode there will be a meeting between the two warring factions in King’s Landing at the Dragonpit. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei meet each other in this scene, along with all the major characters from either side.
The main purpose of this meeting is for Jon Snow to appeal to the two sides to put aside their differences and prepare for the bigger threat of the White Walker invasion. As proof, he will offer a captured Wight (reanimated corpse) for everyone to see.
Cersei will reportedly order the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) to kill the creature. But, when it continues to fight after being struck down; everyone is convinced of the threat they face. The two sides agree to join forces in this scene.
The finale episode of “Game of Thrones” season 7 will set the stage for the final season. Cersei plans to betray Daenerys, by withholding her troops at a crucial time. She hopes to weaken both the Targaryen forces and the White Walkers to benefit in the end. This will cost her the support of Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who will leave her side after being disgusted by her plan.
