'Game of Thrones' season 7 episode 2 preview: The King and Queen react to Daenerys' invasion
A preview of “Game of Thrones” season 7 episode 2 has been released online, teasing some of the scenes. The main focus of the plot will be about Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) reacting to the arrival of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). The following article contains spoilers.
The invasion of Daenerys has shaken up Westeros. Cersei is already aware that the best place for the Mother of Dragons to land is Dragonstone. This will be the foothold in which the Khaleesi will start her conquest. News will reach the North in the next episode.
Cersei and Jon will have a different view on Daenerys. Cersei believes the daughter of the Mad King will “destroy the realm” if she gets the Iron Throne. The queen in Kings’s Landing is already making preparations to fight her enemies. The King in the North, on the other hand, sees the invader as an opportunity.
Jon is aware that the biggest threat they will face is the army of the dead. He is ready to forgive the crimes of some people, making sure he has enough numbers to fight when the invasion happens. The Mother of Dragons, with her army, could be useful in the fight against the Night’s King.
While the potential of using dragons against the White Walkers is tempting, there is still opposition in Jon’s camp. Lord Yohn Royce (Rupert Vansittart) is against allying with Daenerys. The lord from The Vale is old enough to remember the Mad King’s reign and has his suspicious on the daughter. Will the King in the North seek Danny’s help next episode?
Daenerys, on the other hand, is making her own preparations. With a naval fleet, an army and three dragons at their disposal, Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) feels confident they can take King’s Landing. Meanwhile, Arya (Maisie Williams) will see a familiar direwolf as she heads north.
