'Game of Thrones' Season 7 production update: Casting extras for soldiers' role in Spain
The casting for extras in “Game of Thrones” Season 7 has begun in Spain. The producers are looking for actors to play the role of soldiers on the show. Filming in Cáceres region will reportedly begin by mid November.
ModExpor International has made the casting announcement on its Facebook page, Watchers on the Wall reports. The audition process is said to be based in Malpartida, and will be held on Sept. 13 and 14 between 9 am and 2 pm in the Municipal Sports Hall.
The casting for extras is open to people of all races between the ages of 18 and 50. They are looking for thin people, both men and women. For the role of soldiers the men have to be in good physical shape and there will be special consideration for people with military experience.
The men can have short, medium or long hair. But, the guys with “very modern” hairstyle, or different colour streaks like green, blue and pink will be rejected. Women need to have long hair to be considered for “Game of Thrones” Season 7. One additional requirement is that the extras can’t have any visible tattoos.
The casting company prefers to hire locals in the area, who live in Cáceres. The men who want to be cast should be open to grow or cut their facial hair, as per the requirement of the production.
3000 people are said to be getting an invite to take part in the second day of casting. 2,400 of them will be men and the rest will be women. It is not clear how many people will be selected after the final round.
Filming of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 with the extras being cast will take place between Nov. 14 and Dec. 15. The locations are said to be Trujillo or Malpartida. Casting announcement for Córdoba and Seville is expected soon.
