'Game of Thrones' Season 7 production update and casting news
The cast and crew may be preparing to film a big battle sequence for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 in Spain. The casting for a large number of extras suggests an action sequence will be filmed soon. Meanwhile, two new actors have been cast for the show.
According to a report by Watchers on the Wall , casting for extras is taking place in Zumaia in Spain. The announcement is only for men between 20 and 50 years of age, and men with military experience are preferred.
The men should be in good physical condition. The producers are looking to cast average to tall men who are between 5 feet and 10 inches to 6 feet and 5 inches tall. The men should have no visible tattoos and should be willing to cut or grow facial hair, depending on the need of the scene.
The casting announcement suggests that the producers are looking for soldiers. Men living in the area are preferred, and should be available for filming in Zumaia or Bermeo. The relevant scenes for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 will be filmed from Oct. 21 to 30th
The report notes that it is not clear in which army the soldiers will be seen in. The casting calls for the Unsullied and the Dothraki are generally broader “in terms of ethnicity/race,” the report notes.
Meanwhile, another report by Watchers on the Wall states that two new actors have been cast for the show. Joseph Quinn will be playing a character called Koner and Paul Ward will be playing an unnamed character on the show. No details about the new characters have been revealed so far.
“Game of Thrones” Season 7 is set to premiere on June 25, 2017. The TV series is racing towards the end, with Season 8 being the last. HBO is yet to announce a spin-off series of the show.
