‘Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke named Esquire's ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’
Esquire has chosen actress Emilia Clarke as this year’s “Sexiest Woman Alive.”
The actress has posed naked for Esquire magazine’s cover. This November month's issue features "Game of Thrones" actress' sexy photoshoot, where she can be seen showing off her sultry side. Some of Clarke’s shots features black-white stills in which she is seen posing in sexy lingerie. In other pictures, the 28-year-old British actress has gone completely nude, with only a sheet covering the lower part of her body.
Lisa Hintelmann, the editorial projects director of the magazine, told Fox News through an email that the actress was a favourite among the Esquire staff. "Emilia Clarke is unforgettable in 'Game of Thrones' and was hands down the number one choice of Esquire's staff, friends and family," she wrote.
Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones,” also revealed to Esquire how she ended up with her Khaleesi role. She recounted how her agent called her about the project after HBO decided to revisit the series’ casting list since they were unhappy with the original pilot of the show.
"My agent told the casting director, 'I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she's short and round and brown, but I'd like you to see her,’” she shared.
The “Terminator: Genisys” star told Esquire that she used the Internet to research her character before her casting audition, as she had very little time to read George R. R. Martin books. "I had two scenes which told me nothing...” she said, “So I did what every good actor does and Wikipedia'd the living c--- out of it."
Clarke also remembered how she had a hard time filming the early episodes of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” given the rape scene and other shots required nudity. "Once, I had to take a little time out,” she said to Esquire. “I said I needed a cup of tea, had a bit of a cry, and was ready for the next scene."
Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” is set to air on HBO in April 2016.
