'Geordie Shore' latest news: Marnie Simpson is dragged into ‘drugs’ controversy; footage shows reality star with ‘white substance’

“Geordie Shore” may have ended its Series 13, but its cast members continue to grab headlines because of various controversies.

This time, it’s Marnie Simpson who has become the subject of a latest scandal. The 24-year-old reality star became embroiled in a “drugs row” after she was caught on camera at the Inferno nightclub holding what looked like a white substance.

In the video, obtained exclusively by The Mirror, Marnie was seen with friends in a toilet while holding a mobile phone. On top of the phone was a line “of what appears to be white powder is on top of it,” the publication reported. The person who took the video reportedly held her phone over the top of the toilet door. Marnie then seemed to try hiding the phone as she screamed, “Oh my God.”

The one who filmed Marnie was reportedly “hurled out by the bouncers,” according to the person’s friend. “At first my friend took a picture as she heard laughing and Marnie talking,” the source said. “Then she took the video. She was hurled out about 20 minutes after. Marnie started laughing when she saw her over the top of the toilet door.”

For its part, Club Inferno claimed it operates a zero tolerance drugs policy. “We conduct random searches on entrance to the club, as well as searching all bags. We deal with offences robustly and in partnership with all relevant agencies,” the club said in a statement, according to The Mirror. “We are not prepared to discuss individual cases, but can confirm we always cooperate fully with any investigations regarding matters at our venue.”

Marnie was reported to be hanging out that night with her boyfriend, “The Only Way Is Essex” star Lewis Bloor. The two met on “Celebrity Big Brother” this year.

On her Twitter account, Marnie wrote, “Had the best night last night. Paying for it now mind.”

Marnie was last seen on MTV’s “Geordie Shore: The Party Tour,” which also starred Gary “Gaz” Beadle, Aaron Chalmers, Chloe Ferry, Marty McKenna, Nathan Henry and Scott Timlin. The other cast members Sophie Kasaei and Chantelle Connelly left the show before it ended, while Holly Hagan and Kyle Christie were the latest Geordies to say goodbye.

In another tweet, Marnie expressed her thoughts about 2016 and the year ahead. “Actually a bit gutted 2016 is almost over. It's been a amazing year let's make 2017 even better,” she wrote.
