‘Geordie Shore’ update: ‘Why Aye Love You’ decodes the gang’s lingo [VIDEO]
Find out what “mortal” really means
What makes the “Geordie Shore” crew special – apart from the chaotic partying, shameless display of nudity and careless hook-ups, among others – is the unique language they use.
While most fans of the hit MTV reality show can decipher the weird combination of words that come out of the stars’ mouths, the others remain completely clueless. On the second episode of a three-part special titled “Why Aye Love You,” the “Geordie Shore” cast finally opens its trove of unique and exclusive lingo.
“Mortal” is one of the words that is virtually audible in almost every episode of the show. In “Geordie Shore” lingo, it means a state when one gets so drunk, he or she is pretty much dead. Nathan Henry attempted to out a positive spin by describing it as a state of euphoria or happiness, but simply put, “mortal” just means hammered, wrecked, trollied, wasted, smashed or pissed. Whatever synonym available, being mortal at the “Geordie Shore” house usually follows an intense physical fight.

Followers of the show also often hear the phrase “tashin’ on” from the “Geordie Shore” crew. According to the second episode, it’s brunette beauty Vicky Pattison who pretty much invented the expression, which simply means kissing with tongue. New member Marty McKenna offers an alternative, which is necking on, something that the whole gang is quite familiar with. After all, sucking face is one of their favourite hobbies inside and outside the house.

Another word that sometimes makes new fans of “Geordie Shore” scratch their heads is “worldie.” While some would quickly assume it’s a hip version of worldly, those who have watched the show would know the cast can’t be described as mature and sophisticated. According to the second episode of “Why Aye Love You,” the word refers to an amazingly fit girl. Contrary to rumours, however, not all lads inside the house pounce on their female counterparts.

Perhaps it’s best to brush up on the gang’s vocabulary before the 13th series hits the small screen. “Geordie Shore: Why Aye Love You” offers a perfect opportunity to do so. The three-part throwback special, which kicked off on July 13, takes a hilarious trip down memory lane focusing on epic moments, the legendary one-liners and buzzing controversies that the Geordies have encountered. Fans would also get to know better the eight original housemates, including Charlotte Crosby, Gary "Gaz" Beadle, Aaron Chalmers, Marnie Simpson, Chloe Ferry, Holly Hagan and Scott “Scotty T” Timlin.
Throughout the run of the special, some celebrities will make appearances to share their thoughts. This includes “Liberty X” alum Michelle Heaton, comedian Matt Richardson, Liz McClarnon from Atomic Kitten and former “The Only Way is Essex” star Dan Osborne.
