Reports of the romance between Victoria’s Secret angel Gigi Hadid and former One Direction member Zayn Malik made headlines when snapshots of the two inside the singer's car surfaced at the American Music Awards after-party on Sunday night in West Hollywood.

In the photo, Hadid was shown talking to Malik who is sitting behind her. US Weekly reports they can confirm that the two are dating. The source tells the magazine that Malik is chuffed with the 20-year-old model.

According to E Online sources, Malik was not with Hadid in the party but came to pick her up afterwards. While the two are spending some quality time together, the source insists that it is too soon to call the duo an item.

"They are just friends and are casually hanging out," the insider explained. The source added, "She is not looking to jump into another relationship so soon. Gigi is a relationship-type kinda girl, but she wants to just have some fun and take time for herself and her career at the moment. Zayn is [a] good friend of Selena Gomez and her whole gang of friends."

Hollywood Life reports that Kendall Jenner was the one who played cupid between the two.

“Kendall introduced Gigi to Zayn when she was dating Harry," shared the source. "It wasn’t until Kylie’s big birthday bash that they really hit it off. Zayn didn’t know very many people at the party and spent most of his time with Kendall and Gigi. Kendall was the one who played Cupid. It’s all very new, but they are both really into each other,”

The two stars recently became single after Malik's split from former fiancée Perrie Edwards and Hadid breaking it off with Joe Jonas. Representatives from both camps have not issued a comment.
