Gigi Hadid Says Her Mom Is Not The Reason Of Successful Modeling Career
Gigi Hadid may have a famous mom, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Yolanda Foster, but she is an IT-model in her own right. She shared her friends believe her mom does not have a hand on her success because she’s hardworking.
In an interview with the Post at Diesel Black Gold’s Show on Tuesday, Gigi Hadid said her fellow models do not allege that just because she is the daughter of Yolanda Foster, she is now a famous star. “Even though my mom is on a TV show, the other girls see how hard I work,” she said. “If she wasn’t on a show I would still be here,” she added. She also said she personally had an attitude that is making her the future face of fashion. She believes it is “cool” to be fashionable.
In an earlier interview however, the model opens up about her mom battling Lyme disease and how she and her boyfriend Cody Simpson are supporting her in this difficult time. She told US Weekly that she and Cody constantly call Yolanda through FaceTime and update her on their lives. The constant updates are lifting up her mom’s spirits and are something her mom looks forward to, the Dutch model shared. The updates are also helping her mom cope with her Lyme disease.
Last Nov 2014, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star shocked her fans with an announcement that her Lyme disease worsened to the point of her not being able to “read, write or even watch TV.” She added that it felt as if someone had “confiscated” her brain and made her dysfunctional.
Gigi became quite the model for the past months, skyrocketing since last year. She was even named “Model of the Year” at the first Annual fashion Los Angeles Awards. She and Cody are also better than ever, even though Gigi said they are not making wedding plans yet. Gigi said she is not planning nor waiting, as marriage for her is just something that will happen. In the meantime, she is just proud and happy of what she has achieved.
