Supermodel Gigi Hadid has fired back at her body shamers on social media who emerged after her recent appearance at Versace runway during the Milan Fashion Week.

After finding herself a target of body shamers, Hadid took her response to Instagram last week and uploaded a sincere and smart take on all the negative comments about her body.

“No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows,” Hadid wrote. “I represent a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before, and I’m also very lucky to be supported by the designers, stylists, and editors that I am: ones that knows this is fashion, it’s art.”

“Yes, I have b----, I have abs, I have a b---, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment,” she added.

Hadid explained in the photo how proud she is of her body, which landed her a modeling career today.

At the end of her statement, Hadid said she hopes that “everyone gets to a place in their lives where they’d rather talk about the things that inspire them over the things that bring other down.”

She also expressed her love for all body types via Twitter and cited her likeness for the bodies of various celebrities including Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna, Candice Swanepoel and Taylor Swift.

Meanwhile, Hadid’s post has received praises and support from different celebrities like Tyra Banks, Ashley Graham and Kris Jenner.

Banks regrammed Hadid’s post and wrote how proud she is of the model. Banks said Hadid’s words are all “powerful, necessary, vulnerable and real.”

The 26-year-old model also received support from her boyfriend, Joe Jonas, on Instagram. Jonas posted a shot of Hadid during a catwalk and said she “killed” the runway.

Hadid and Jonas were recently spotted having a dinner date at l'Entrecote restaurant in Paris.
