'Girl Meets World' season 3 episode 1 spoilers: premiere opens up with some pain; set at lodge where Cory cheated on Topanga
Original air date on the Disney Channel; June 3, 2016
“Girl Meets World” Season 3 is set to air in less than a week. It was recently revealed that a former character in the original “Boy Meets World” will return to direct a couple of great, nostalgic episodes.
Rider Strong, who takes on the role of Shaw Hunter on both “Girl Meets World” and “Boy Meets World,” shared on Twitter that he will serve as director with his brother. He added a photo, hinting that there will be some pain and drama in the upcoming stories.
Zap2It reveals that one of the episodes will be set at the Mountain Sun Lodge, which is known as the ski resort where “Boy Meets World” star Cory (Ben Savage) cheated on Topanga (Danielle Fishel). It appears that Riley (Rowan Blanchard) parents may bring the family back to the old place for some rest and relaxation. However, the chosen place might also set the tone for some pain and hurt feelings, especially on the part of Topanga. Lauren (Linda Cardinelli), the other girl that Cory spent time with at the resort, may have a cameo appearance to fan the flame between the couple.
According to CinemaBlend, fans of “Girl Meets World” have seen several elements from “Boy Meets World” reintroduced in a number of episodes. Past stories have been used as reference to develop new stories. It appears that Season 3 will go back to a difficult time in Cory and Topanga’s relationship when he cheated on her. Cory might set the family up at the Lodge, forgetting that it was a terrible place for his wife.
The setting may be used as a story for Cory and Topanga to educate their daughter about the importance of faithfulness in a relationship. Riley may go on a school trip with her friends and classmates at the Lodge and meet Lauren there. Overall, there will expectedly be some awkward family moments and surprising discoveries.
“Girl Meets World” Season 3 will return in a two-episode premiere on June 3 and 5, 2016 on Disney Channel. More updates and details are expected soon.
