Global warming accelerated by Arctic ice loss
According to TopNews New Zealand, recent reports by climate scientists state that global warming may be getting more critical than usual. It is known globally by everyone that the temperature of Arctic is rising very hastily. As a matter of fact, the temperatures of Arctic are increasing twice faster than the temperatures of the earth. The temperature rise leads to more ice meltdown especially during summer.
These reports were prepared by including data from various sources, including weather stations, satellites, ships, and planes. The maximum increase in temperature is near the sea surface, particularly in Arctic Ocean, and the impact is usually not felt at eminent levels. This report has also taken into account data from a range of other places rather than just a single source.
The scientists also observed that these conditions have been experienced for the past few years. The rapidly ice cover melting in the Arctic Sea is directing to a number of other problems. This matter has brought numerous debates among the scientific community. Different answers are being given by different sides regarding these changes and further debates have been added on global warming.
Environmental experts also feel that change in clouds cover may also make a lot of difference as clouds can both block the sun and trap heat as well.
Sea ice plays an important role to keep the earth cool as the energy from the sun is being reflected on it. According to the latest research, approximately 16% of sea ice has been lost within 1989 to 2008.
