“The Good Wife” Season 6 is a few episodes away from season finale, and the developing plot line is pointing to Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi), who needs help. Meanwhile, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) turns to Peter (Chris Noth) for comfort after a huge party conflict.

Spoiler alert: This update contains “The Good Wife” Season 6 spoilers. Read on at your own risk. There is no new episode this week; the next new episode, 6x20, airs Apr. 26 on CBS.

“The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 19 (“Winning Ugly”) is about Alicia’s fight against her own political party and Diane Lockhart’s (Christine Baranski) move after learning that she inadvertently submitted false evidence from Kalinda’s laptop.

Alicia is being forced to step down from the Office of the State’s Attorney to stop authorities from looking further into the election fraud that involves a senator. For her part, Diane quickly comes clean about the false evidence, subsequently giving Geneva Pine (Renée Elise Goldsberry) a leverage against Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter).

Toward the end of “The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 19, Alicia winds up sobbing in Peter’s arms after losing a battle with her own party. Kalinda gets ready to present evidence against Bishop, but Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) tells Geneva he will turn against Bishop to help Kalinda.

In a CBS promo clip for the next new episode, “The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 20 (“The End”), Alicia speaks before the media to announce she has withdrawn her name “from contention for the Office of the State’s Attorney.” Peter stands behind Alicia on stage as his good wife makes this announcement.

“What do I do now?” Alicia asks Peter in “The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 20 promo video. In another part of the video, Alicia get into a confrontation with Diane about getting betrayed. Kalinda Sharma is nowhere to be seen in the promo or synopsis for the next new episode, but her story is expected to get more complicated.

Kalinda Sharma is leaving “The Good Wife” on or before the Season 6 finale episode. Archie Panjabi is not renewing her contract, and the actress has said her farewell via Twitter after filming her last episode on the CBS legal drama.

“The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 20 will also feature R.D. (Oliver Platt), a recurring guest character with ties to Diane Lockhart.
