Google Nexus 10 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 vs iPad Air: Will it be Samsung, Apple or Google?
Samsung, Apple and Google have been focusing their efforts on releasing powerful tablets. Apple and Google released their refreshed iPads and second generation Nexus 7 respectively. Samsung has also been releasing a series of slates and hybrids through its Galaxy series. With the holidays coming, the three big tech giants are all working on giving consumers more options.
Google Nexus 10 2
Everyone is waiting for Google to release their second generation Nexus 10. Reports say the Nexus 10 2 will be one of the flagship devices for Google's Android 4.4 KitKat. Because the device was missing in action last October 28, sources say Google will release it instead on November 1. The device will supposedly launch with Nexus 5.
A leak from PhoneArena says the Nexus 10 2 will run on Snapdragon 800 chip, 8MP camera and 3GB RAM. The leaked specs came from a new listing on Google Play about Nexus 10. According to sources, Google will stick to the 10-inch screen and 2560x1600 pixel resolution for 300 ppi. It will also include a Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
It also seems the battery will go through an update. Google will reportedly include a 9500mAh battery in place of the 9000mAh. Other reported features include lighter design at 584g, thinner frame at 7.9mm and more compact package at 258.9x172.6mm. People can make the final verdict about the device once it hit stores this November.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Samsung released their Galaxy Note 10.1, 2014 Edition. The device ensures portability and excellent product service. Features include 10-inch screen offering WQXGA Super clear LCD (2560×1600) resolution, 1.9GHz A15 Quad Core + 1.3GHz A7 Quad Core Processor with 3 GB RAM. The Korean tech giant ensures performance without compromising the thin and light design.
"The new GALAXY Note 10.1 is the most progressive 10-inch tablet, delivering the best viewing and multitasking experiences. It is the most recent demonstration of Samsung Mobile's focus on constant product innovation to stay aligned with shifting consumer interests," Eric Sulit said. Mr Sulit works as the Business Unit Director SEPCO IT & Mobile Division Philippines.
"The GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) unites a range of features that will consistently surprise consumers as they realize how much easier and more enjoyable it makes their everyday lives," he added.
What makes the Note 10.1 stand out is the S Pen. Once the user removes the stylus from its slot, this will launch apps such as Scrapbook, Action Memo and S Finder. The S Pen is ideal for multitask. It can open multiple windows while restoring what the user is working on previously.
iPad Air
The iPad Air promises more battery life and better performance all in a light and thin package. It comes with a Retina display and measures 7.55mm by 0.3mm. It is 1.9mm thinner compared to the full fized iPad from before. While the tablet may feel thin, Apple assures users that it is as durable as it can be. The device will not flex or bend as easily.
The device is also fast as it runs on the latest A7 chip with 64-bit architecture and M7 motion coprocessor. Other features include 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, 2048-by-1536 resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi) and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.
As mentioned, people can make their final verdicts on these tablets once they all hit stores these holidays.
