Google Nexus 5 vs Moto X: Which Android Smartphone to Watch Out For?
Two smartphones anchored to search engine giant Google are expected to arrive later this year to join the battle royale in the smartphone market.
Google Nexus 5 and Moto X are two smartphones that will try to lure buyers just in time for the holidays.
It is rumoured that Moto X will arrive this August. Google Nexus 5 is expected to be released in October along with the new Android operating system.
It was first speculated that the Moto X is the Nexus 5 itself. The rumours emerged after Google bought Motorola Mobility last year. The recent acquisition will enable Google to manufacture its own handsets and will no longer need the aid of other tech companies.
However, Google has not confirmed yet as to when it will release the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4, which was sold out in minutes after its release and sold 400,000 units initially.
Below is the comparison of Google Nexus 5 and Moto X based on their rumoured features.
Screen Display - According to rumours, Moto X will include a 4.5 inch screen display; while the Nexus 5 will include a 5-inch Full HD screen display.
Processor - Moto X is rumoured to be powered by a dual core Snapdragon chipset clocked at 1.7GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. This says nothing if rumours proved to be true that Google Nexus 5 will include an eight-core processor at 2.3GHz with 3GB of RAM.
Operating System - Being affiliated to Google has the perks of having the latest operating system be it the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or the rumoured 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
Internal Storage - The Moto X is reported to be available in 16GB and 32GB variants. Nexus 5, on the other hand, is rumoured to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions.
Camera - Motorola's new phone may include a 10MP rear shooter and 2MP face camera. Google Nexus 5 will come with 13MP rear camera.
Battery - Google Nexus 5 is rumoured to come with 3300mAh battery life. Moto X is also speculated to include a mammoth battery life and will support wireless charging.
Price and Availability - The predecessor of Nexus 5, LG Nexus 4, was quite famous for its cheaper price. The device is expected to cost around $299. A leak claimed that Moto X 16GB model will come in at $299. The 32GB version will set customers back $349. Thus, both will come with a friendly tag price.
