Google Nexus 6 price massively slashed on Amazon by $400
Google Nexus 6, the flagship smartphone from 2014, is now available with an enormous discount on Amazon. The price of the 32GB as well as the 64GB models has been slashed by US$400 (AU$571).
When Nexus 6 was launched in October 2014, the 32GB model carried a price tag of US$649 (AU$926) and the 64GB variant was available for US$699 (AU$997). The Nexus 6 is a smartphone built by Motorola and it has been now replaced by Google Nexus 6P by Huawei.
With a price cut of US$400 (AU$571), the price of 32GB Nexus 6 has been reduced to US$249 (AU$355). On the other side, the price of 64GB Nexus 6 has been slashed to US$299 (AU$426). Amazon is selling only the unlocked Nexus 6 models with a $400 discount along with a US warranty.
The Nexus 6 US$400 discount will begin on Jan. 14. So, users can visit Amazon and preorder the smartphone. The 32GB Nexus 6 is currently available only in the Midnight Blue variant. The Cloud White option is presently unavailable. The 64GB Nexus 6 is available in both colours, Android Authority reported.
The recent price reduction of Google Nexus 6 seems to be an attempt from the retailer giant to clear off the remaining stock of the smartphone. The probable reason behind it is that it has been succeed by Google Nexus 6P. It seems to be a permanent price reduction and other retailers like Best Buy are also expected to introduce significant discounts on the Nexus 6.
In the US, Google Store is presently selling the Google Nexus 5X with a price cut of US$30 (AU$42). In October 2015, the LG Nexus 5X was launched with a pricing of US$379 (AU$541) and US$429 (AU$612) for 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. However, the new discount brings down the cost of 16GB and 32GB models of Nexus 5X to US$349 (AU$498) and US$399 (AU$570), respectively.
