Google Nexus 6 2016 speculated specs and features roundup
Google collaborated with Huawei for the first time ever to launch its flagship Nexus device in 2015. After the successful venture of Nexus 6P, Google may yet again partner with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer to come up with its next generation of Nexus 6 2016.
Snapdragon 820 SoC
As reported by GizmoChina, expert industry analyst Pan Jiutang revealed that Huawei will again make the next generation of Nexus 6 smartphones in 2016. Jiutang also added that the Huawei-made device will house the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset.
In the meantime, on Dec. 11, Qualcomm announced the latest Snapdragon 820 processor in China. The company confirmed that the newly announced chipset could power almost 70 devices in 2016. The next-gen of Nexus 6 2016 is one of the smartphones that can feature the powerful SoC. Huawei’s own home grown Kirin 950 can also prove to be a close contender in this regard.
Android N with split-screen feature
Google is expected to release its next version 7.0 of Android OS at its annual developer conference, Google I/O in 2016. The upcoming version is allegedly referred to as Android N. Recently, the team responsible for developing Pixel C conducted a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, reports Android Police.
At the event, the Google team revealed that for Android N, they are working on quite a few new features including the split screen display functionality. The next generation of Nexus 6 (2016) is expected to sport the split screen technology like the recently launched Apple iPad Pro.
Rumours suggest that the new Huawei-made phablet will feature a gigantic 7-inch display screen. However, both Google and Huawei are yet to confirm the speculated specs and features.
Huawei also announced that the company will start launching its Honor branded handsets for the US market at the CES 2016 event. The rumour mill suggests that the Honor 5X might be the first smartphone to get launched in the United States. The company may also release the international versions of the Honor 7 and Honor 6 smartphones in the US.
