The Google Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are two high-end flagship smartphones mostly comparable when it comes to their specs.

Both have a 5.7 inch AMOLED displays with Quad HD quality (1440×2560) plus Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Moving on to processors, Google has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (v2.1) while Samsung Galaxy S6 carries the Exynos 7420. Both processors are octa core 64 bit chips that use 4 A53 cores, as well as 4 A57 cores.

Apart from these, other core specifications such as double band 11ac Wi-Fi, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX, GPS NFC are included in both devices. But, the IR blaster isn’t featured in the Galaxy S6 Edge plus even though the device initially had it.

And this feature is the difference between Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Google Nexus 6P. Google removed the Wi-Ficharging on the Nexus 6Pbut Samsung still provides the feature in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge plus. Google included the new USB Type-C interface that supports quick charging.

The Nexus 6P is backed by a 3450mAh battery as compared to 3000mAh for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which point towards longer battery life. The Nexus 6P sports a 12.3 MP shooter from Sony. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a 16 MP camera recognized while the Nexus 6P has an individual LED flash against dual tone for the Samsung.

An important difference is that the Nexus 6P comes with the latest version of Android i.e Android 6.0 Marshmallow thus becoming a launch product. On the other hand, Samsung will roll-out the Android M for Galaxy S6 Edge+ soon but the company has maintained uncertainty over the update.
