Microsoft pioneered the 2-in-1 tablet concept with the Surface Pro 3 / 4 series and this trend was followed by Apple iPad Pro. Jumping on the bandwagon, Google just released the “Pixel C” with a big display. Even though this slate was introduced alongside the LG-made Nexus 5X and Huawei-built Nexus 6P, the device was never listed for purchase until now.

Powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Google Pixel C comes packed with top-of-the-shelf configurations. The tablet features an anodized aluminum build, guaranteeing a premium-look.

Google Play Store is now offering the device in the U.S. The Australian site, however, says “Out of Stock” at this point. In any case, the following countries will be able to purchase the device soon: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and Switzerland.

As far as price goes, the 32 GB model of the Pixel C will set the buyers back by $699 in Australia. Buyers can convert this tablet into a laptop by purchasing the detachable keyboard for $199, Finder AU noted.

Speaking of specifications, the Google Pixel C features a humungous 10.2-inch display and 2,560 x 1,800 pixels resolution. Phone Arena, meanwhile, says this slate comes bundled with an aspect ratio of 1:2. This is reportedly closer to the recently released Surface Pro lineup’s 3:2 aspect ratio. This also means Google’s new tablet is more of a laptop than a standard tablet.

Under the hood, Nvidia’s superior Tegra K1 chip powers the slate and it comes backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM. The Tegra K1 is apparently world's first chipset to offer “console-level performance” on any hand-held device. Not to forget, this chip tallied an impressive 75,000 score in AnTuTu benchmark test.

The Pixel C comes equipped with 32 GB and 64 GB of native storage space and it features an USB Type-C port.
