'Gotham' Season 2, Episode 7 spoilers: Mommy's Little Monster [VIDEO]
Next week on the FOX drama series “Gotham,” detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the rest of the Gotham City Police Department have their hands full. Theo Galavan (James Frain) gets ready to unleash evil as he becomes mayor. Elsewhere, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) tries to rescue his mother and Nygma (Michael Cory Smith) deals with his gruesome crime. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]
Episode 7 is titled “Mommy’s Little Monster,” and the little monster in the show who has big mommy issues is Penguin. Also known as Oswald Cobblepot, Penguin has risen to the top of the Gotham underworld only to be manipulated by Theo Galavan by kidnapping his mother.
After doing all of Galavan’s dirty work and nearly losing his mind, Penguin finally receives good news about his mother. According to the episode synopsis shared by TV.com, his henchman Butch, will lead him to the warehouse where his mother is being kept.
Unfortunately, the promo trailer shows that Penguin will end up in a stand-off with Jim Gordon once he reaches the warehouse. At the top of the whole set-up is of course, Theo Galavan. After using both of them to help his bid for mayor, he appears to have turned the old friends against each other. [Scroll down for video]
However, Jim tells his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue): “Everything that’s happening is being orchestrated.” He then instructs the other police officers to find Penguin alive. This indicates that Jim is starting to understand exactly what Galavan has been up to.
Meanwhile, Ed Nygma needs to deal with another dead body. At the end of last week’s episode, he accidentally choked his girlfriend to death. When Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Speck) learned that he killed her ex-boyfriend, she naturally freaked out. Nygma ended up choking her while attempting to calm her down. After cleanly getting rid of her ex-boyfriend’s body in the previous season, it remains to be seen how Nygma will deal with his latest kill.
“Gotham” Season 2, episode 7, “Mommy’s Little Monster,” will air next Monday at 8:00 pm ET on FOX.
