‘Gotham’ Season 2 Preview: Meet Tigress and Theo Galavan in new trailer [VIDEO]

Season 2 of the FOX drama series ‘Gotham’ is set to premiere this month, and the network has wasted no time in sharing teasers and sneak peeks for the upcoming season. In the latest trailer, the audience is introduced to new villains Theo and Tabitha Galavan.

“Today is the first day of a wonderful future for all of you,” says Theo (James Frain) as he addresses a lineup of carefully selected inmates inside the Arkham Asylum. He is joined by his sister Tabitha (Jessica Lucas), who also goes by the monicker “Tigress.”

He makes his intentions clear by telling the group of lunatics that he wants to make use of their brilliantly nefarious qualities, in order to wreak havoc in Gotham City. “The world sees criminal lunatics, I see brilliance,” he says.

One of the notable inmates in Galavan’s lineup is Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), who is pegged to be the alter-ego of the legendary “Batman” villain, The Joker. Joining him in the carefully selected group of mentally-disturbed asylum residents is Barbara Keane (Erin Richards).

Barbara played a small role in the first season of “Gotham” as Detective Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) fiancee. They eventually went their separate ways due to various personal and work-related issues. While Jim was working hard to clean up the police force, Barbara ended up in a very dark path. She landed in the asylum after she was kidnapped by the Ogre , and was manipulated and brainwashed into killing her own parents.

In Season 2, Barbara will be playing a bigger role as one of the group of lunatics who will be taking over Arkham Asylum under the guidance of the Galavans. Theo promises the outlaws that Gotham City will tremble before them, if they let him become their leader and mentor. Jerome appears to be completely on board with the plan, while Barbara and some of the others need a little more convincing.

The sneak peek comes from the first episode of Season 2 titled “Damned if you Do,” which airs on Monday, September 21, at 8:00 pm EDT, on FOX.
