Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ Reaches YouTube’s 200 Million Views Mark
Gotye may have composed a song with a sad message behind a failed relationship, but all the milestones it has been getting makes the Aussie artist stay in a happy state.
The music video of 'Somebody That I Used To Know,' which also featured Kimbra, has reached the 200 million views mark at YouTube.
If their cover for 'Walk Off The Earth' is added, then that would mean extra 100 million views to their latest milestone.
Gotye's song has made it to the top of charts not just in their own native country but also in other parts of the world like the US. It has even placed top for the US Billboard Charts.
Gotye On Staying Grounded
Regardless of all the success that Gotye has been getting, the singer stays humble. The chart-topper said in one interview that he does not plan on buying anything expensive with all the earnings he gets these days. He is content with the idea of being able to continue working on his music and to create an appropriate studio for his work.
Above all, he is more excited with getting to work with other artists in the industry. He looks forward to working with other musicians who live in different parts of the globe. In short, he wants to enjoy travelling to other countries to be able to collaborate with other artists.
The Gotye SNL guesting and Gotye Glee feature are just two of the proofs of the artist's popularity. He is currently on his US tour and now has three albums.
Gotye wants to continue creating music that sounds unusually good.
