Aussie recording artist, Gotye, nabbed one of the most important awards of this year's Grammy Awards: the Record of the Year for his sone, Somebody That I Used to Know.

Gotye brought triumph to all Aussie musicians struggling to get a name by winning one of the most prestigious recognition in the industry: the 2013 Grammy for Record of the Year for his hit song with singer, Kimbra.

Multi-talented and multi-awarded musician, Prince, presented the award, and quipped "Oh I love this song" before announcing Gotye's name and record as the winner.

It was considered a surprise since Gotye was up against major contenders and heavy hitters. He beat the likes of Frank Ocean, Best New Artist winner, Fun., and Kelly Clarkson.

Gotye's collaborator in the song, Kimbra, was also present in the awards night, and they both walked onstage to receive the award. Kimbra even gushed how she is excited to have Prince present her award, saying "and thank you, Prince!" looking excited and over the moon.
