‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11 (S11E16) Spoilers: Calzona, Japril, MerDer And New Couple Face Changes In New Episode
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 returns with a new episode Thursday (air date: 3/19/15) on ABC. This week’s new episode is expected to focus on Meredith and Derek (MerDer), but other couples (Calzona and Japril) will also have ample screentime based on the s11e16 synopsis.
At the end of s11e15, Meredith Grey calls her husband to bring some positive news (her winning streak at Grey Sloan Memorial), but a woman’s voice answers the phone and hangs up on her. Callie gets back in the saddle, but romance or sex is not Arizona’s priority as of the 15th episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11.
Jackson and April are back to work, but they still have to go through a period of healing. The hospital’s new couple, Owen and Amelia, may or may not have some sorting out to do after their steamy scene in s11e15. More of these couple developments in recent “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 episodes are expected to unfold in this week’s new episode.
Episode 16, titled “Don’t Dream It’s Over” is expected to be a relationship-centric episode based on the 11x16 episode synopsis (with minor spoilers) released by ABC. The title suggests breaking up or letting go, but it could also pertain to other things that could be “over” in the hospital drama series.
“April and Jackson (Japril to fans) struggle to return to their normal lives,” reads the 11x16 synopsis. “Arizona (half of the Calzona code that fans use) is faced with the reality that Callie is moving on,” it continues. Meanwhile, a promo video of this week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 shows Meredith asking Karev: “He’s not cheating on me, right?”
Karev himself is in one of the fans’ most favourite couples in the series. Followers of Karev’s relationship with Jo Wilson calls them Jolex. They have been doing pretty well and skipping serious drama for a while now. It remains to be seen whether this couple will follow Merder, Calzona and Japril in the road to difficult times.
“Don’t Dream It’s Over” is the title of a song by Crowded House. Showrunner/creator Shonda Rhimes and team are known for using song titles to name “Grey’s Anatomy” episodes. The next episode (3/26/15) is called, “With or Without You,” which is the title of a popular U2 song.
