‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Hunt The Truth Sees Master Chief’s Dark Past; Possible ‘Halo’ Cloud Features Spotted
The latest Hunt the Truth episode delves deeper into the Master Chief’s past. Investigator Benjamin Giraud, part of the viral marketing campaign for “Halo 5: Guardians,” continues on his quest to see whether or not John had died like some accounts say.
Previous findings showed that John had already died, but now findings by Giraud’s friend uncovered that John’s parents were still alive. This contradicted with what was previously known about his parents having died in a rebel camp. But it appears that glassed planets having bad records may be hiding more.
Giraud also interviewed Ben, who was currently in Castallaneta. This person, however, had memories of John as a sixteen-year old whom he was part of training with. The picture of John, a.k.a. the Master Chief, that had painted was one of a good leader that the recruits were willing to follow.
This is just the surface of what’s been uncovered so far about the Master Chief. But there was an interesting anecdote that put the Master Chief in a more shocking light, one involving a possible genetic operation. And the recording ends on a rather suspense-filled note. Fans can listen to the entire recording via the official Hunt the Truth site.
Apart from the actual “Halo 5: Guardians” game, the team behind the title may be planning something related to cloud gaming for the Xbox One’s biggest title this 2015. If a job listing spotted by Gamingbolt is to be believed, there may be Halo Game Services may have something up its sleeve.
As seen in the career page here, the Halo Game Services team is mentioned to have something in the works in relation to the game and cloud services. While there are no specifics mentioned, the ad does state that the team is involved with more than just “Halo 5: Guardians.” There is mention of the “Spartan Assault,” the Halo Channel and the “Master Chief Collection.” In addition, it also mentions the overall Microsoft ecosystem.
Microsoft has a history with “Titanfall” and the multiplayer ecosystem. The source speculates the possibility of a similar approach to “Halo 5: Guardians.” Adding the mention of the “Halo universe” as part of the cloud services, this could point to a much bigger project for the future of the “Halo” franchise.
