There will be no “Hannibal” Season 4 on NBC, but viewers can expect “Aquarius” Season 2 on the same network. Both NBC and “Hannibal” show boss Bryan Fuller have issued statements on the issue. In his statement, Fuller hinted at the possibility of a different media avenue for Hannibal Lecter.

“Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable,” NBC said in a statement. The network added it has been proud to carry the program’s three seasons.

“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers,” Fuller said, adding “a hungry cannibal can always dine again.” Both statements were reported by TVLine.

Fuller also hinted that his ties with NBC remain solid. The show boss said he is looking forward to working with the network again.

“Hannibal” Season 3 has over two more months to run on NBC. Avid fans of the show are hoping Fuller and team would take the show’s fourth season somewhere else. According to Business Insider, Netflix may not be a viable option, but Amazon is a valid candidate to present “Hannibal” Season 4.

On the other hand, NBC has approved a second season for the David Duchovny-starrer, “Aquarius.” This developed despite the show’s “lukewarm” ratings, as described by TVLine.

In a move that breaks traditional programming, particularly for a new series, NBC released the entire first season of “Aquarius” after running it pilot broadcast. NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke said the experiment brought in “record numbers for NBC Digital.”

The renewal of “Aquarius” implies that David Duchovny will have two shows running in 2016. Duchovny and “Hannibal” actress Gillian Anderson are reuniting for the “X-Files” reboot on Fox. The television special will present six episodes.
