Tom Felton, the actor who played Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter,” has joined the official website of the author of the book series. Fans who join the website are sorted into different Houses that bear the same name as the movies and books. The actor got sorted into House Gryffindor, even though his character in the movie belonged to House Slytherin.

Tom Felton said that he was “heart broken,” when he was sorted into House Gryffindor when he joined Pottermore website. The actor made the announcement in a tweet and added the words “slytherine for life” with a hashtag.

The author of the “Harry Potter” book series, on which the movies are based, responded to the actors tweet on her official Twitter account. J.K. Rowling said she could have told Tom Felton that he would have been sorted into House Gryffindor years ago, but she “didn’t want to spoil” the actor’s “motivation.”

Tom Felton’s character, Draco Malfoy, is one of the main antagonists of Harry in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The character was sorted into House Slytherin and seemed to be against all witches and wizards who were born to people with no magic powers, called as “muggles” in the book series and the movies. The House was founded by the wizard Salazar Slytherin for the “pure-blood” wizards.

J.K. Rowing had previously revealed the reasons behind Draco Malfoy’s behaviour in “Harry Potter.” In a post on the PotterMore website the author revealed that much of the character’s behaviour was modelled after “the most impressive person he knew - his father.”

Draco Malfoy is said to have copied his father’s “cold and contemptuous manner to everyone outside his inner circle.” The character was seen with his two “henchman,” Crabbe and Goyle. The two characters are said to have been used as bodyguards by Draco, according to the author.

J.K. Rowing also described Draco Malfoy’s attitude towards Harry as an outcome of his feelings of envy towards the character. The character was reportedly brought up to believe that he “occupied an almost royal position within the wizarding community.” Tom Felton may have expressed the feelings of his character from the movie, when he was sorted into the same House as Harry Potter.
