Hillary Duff Goes Mermaid After Vacation, While Idina Menzel Opts For Blonde, Christina Hendricks Takes Strawberry Blonde Way

Actress and singer Hillary Duff has a new hair colour. The blonde beauty has dyed her hair mermaid after returning from a vacation to the beachside retreat of Cabo. Taking a cue from Katy Perry and Nicole Richie, who have tried several bold colours for their hair, Hillary debuted the colour on an inspiration from a model, whose photograph she had seen in a magazine during her vacation. The actress had gone on a vacation along with her 23-month-old son, Luca and some close girlfriends.

The actress sported the brand new look when she stepped out for an errand in Los Angeles on Mar.18. She posted a picture on Instagram on the same day with a peek into her teal blue hair. She got her new look from none other than master stylist Amber Maynard from Nine Zero Salon in West Hollywood. The picture showed her getting her hair styled in mermaid hue by the stylist. Duff gave credit for her teal look to Amber.

Amber told Yahoo that the green hue was a dramatic departure from her golden blonde locks, but that she manages to pull it off along with her beachy waves. The stylist informs that for Hillary’s hair she used a two-step process to get the “Crayola hue” effect. Maynard first used the colour on her already highlighted and overgrown hair. “We decided she needed more of a pop, and brought [the colour] up to her scalp,” she said. The stylist added that the hair colour has immensely helped to focus on her light brown eyes. Maynard packs off a little of the hair colour to her clients so that they themselves could use it at home by diluting it according to their needs as to how much vibrant or pastel hue they need.

Besides, Hillary the latest celebrity to join the dyed hair bandwagon includes Idina Menzel, the voice of Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.” The actress dyed her brunette tresses into bold blonde on Mar.19. She even posted a photograph on Twitter. She asked her fans to check what she and her stylist JT Franchuk had done to her hair. She wrote that she needed a change and loved the new hair colour. She gave a hashtag of brunette to blonde, blonde hair don’t care to the picture. Apart from that even actress Christina Hendricks of “Mad Men” fame also dyed her hair strawberry blonde.
