'Homeland' Season 3: Episode 6 Spoilers! House Used for Homeland Series Three, Now Up for Sale
How would you like to sit in the living room used by stars of your favorite, hit series, "Homeland"? If you got $2-M and in need of a great looking house, you may want to check out the house in Charlotte, NC. The six-bedroom house has been used in the upcoming season and owners Mary Ann and Greg Taylor have some spoilers for devoted fans of Showtime’s award winning series.
The Taylors could not believe their ears to hear from real estate agent, Suzette Gray of Coldwell Banker, telling them that the show’s officials have taken a liking on their nice home and would want to see them to possibly be rented and featured on popular TV series, "Homeland."
“They contacted my agent [and asked] would your clients be interested?” Taylor said, according to a report by Forbes.
Though the opportunity indeed excited the family, the Taylors grabbed it to hit two birds in one stone. They signed a deal with the show’s officials to also find out more about their daughter's field, she chose in college.
The owner said, ”It just came along, and we thought it would be fun to do. We also have a daughter who is a junior at Columbia University as a theater-drama major, and she was home this summer during the filming. So we thought it would be great to learn about the industry she’s interested in.”
But it should not come as a real surprise for the nice Charlotte house to catch the eyes of the producers. The house is sitting on a golf course in Charlotte. The experience however, has also been a good learning one for the Taylors as they got a chance to look at the nitty-gritty of the filming process.
It amazed the Charlotte residents on how TV series such as "Homeland" is produced, taking note on the detailed process before the filming began including, constant visit to the Taylors’ home to take measurements and photos as well as to plan out the set, making necessary changes as the script was revised.
“I should have kept a log of all the times they came back to the house,” she said. “The site managers kept coming back and saying, ‘Can we come look at the bedroom again? Can we look at the bathroom? Do you mind if we put a fence here?’ Just over and over in the three to four weeks prior to filming,” the owner said.
Which parts of the house have been used for the film? The Taylors’ said, taken were shots of the yard, the front door and the foyer, kitchen, garage and the 2 of the six bedrooms. The Taylors noted that changes were made to the room off the terrace level and the main-floor bedroom.
It was an arduous process but what fascinated the Taylors the most was the output. Noting that it took the staff three days to set up for the two-day filming, the Taylors pointed out that there was little shown in the edited episode.
But the Taylors’ lips are sealed.
“All we know is that the house is in Episode 6,” Mary Ann Taylor claimed, before adding, “It’ll be interesting to see how much time all those days and hours translate into on-screen.”
