Homeland Season 3 Finale: Has Nick Brody Died a Hero? [WATCH]
The season finale of the third series of Showtime's hit show, "Homeland," has finally come. Will the extraction for Brody and Carrie push through? Will Nicholas Brody's part finally end this season?
Warning: The following contains spoilers of "Homeland's" season 3 finale. Read on to know what happens to Brody, Carrie and the rest of the cast of the show at the end of the season.
In the season finale of the third series of Showtime’s hit show, Nicholas Brody died. Carrie Mathison is now left to raise a child on her own.
Was it a win-win to kill Brody at this season’s finale?
In season 3 episode 12 of “Homeland,” war veteran hero, Nick Brody died in his attempt to redeem himself after developing connections with the terrorists in the first two seasons.
The finale, titled “The Star,” saw the end of Carrie’s love. But equally important is the promise kept by the producers for the heartbreaking and shocking developments of each of the characters made at the beginning of this season.
Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) lost his post as CIA acting director, as Senator Lockart ensured he never set foot in the agency again.
Carrie lost the father of her unborn child. The troubled CIA officer and Brody’s case officer lost her chances of a happy ending with the man she fell in love with in Season 1---when they shared an intimate moment at the back of her car after having a couple of drinks.
And Brody. The questions referring to Brody’s alliance and loyalty have been answered as the curtain dropped for “Homeland.”
Dana’s father proved himself to be a real hero, as he successfully carried out the plot concocted by Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) to end Akbari’s regime and place the CIA ally Javadi.
But will America see Brody as a hero?
Is Brody still the terrorist who tried to blow up Washington with a vest of bomb that didn’t work when disarmed in a stampede as he and other U.S. officials made their way to a secured bunker at the Capitol? Or is he the star and the big man in Tehran who found a way to himself by murdering Akbari? Will Carrie’s lover have a chance to redeem himself?
How will Carrie continue to convince America that Brody is a hero and not how the world has perceived him since he made an alliance with the terrorists? Brody died a hero in the eyes of Carrie and his unborn child and the colleagues who knows the truth before his downfall.
