"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 viewers are now recommended to place a tissue box next to them when watching the series finale episode on "Last Forever" on March 31. Actress Cobie Smulders, who portrays Robin Scherbatsky in the sitcom, has revealed in the IGN interview that she knows what will go down in the series finale and it made her cry.

Ms Smulders shared that she also approached and asked the TV show's creator and executive producer Craig Thomas about the details on the series finale just like co-star Neil Patrick Harris did. According to the MStars News report, Mr Harris inquired about the finale details during the sitcom's Christmas party and got some answers.

"You know what's so funny is, like, a week before Neil did that, I went up to Craig after the table read, and I was like, 'What is the deal with this?' He was like, 'Well, do you want me to tell you?' I was like, 'Yeah! I think I want to know,' and he just laid it out. I immediately started weeping and had to leave. Like, I had to leave. I said that, I was like, 'Craig, I have to leave right now. Thank you,' and I just walked away," revealed Cobie Smulders.

When further asked if the ending will be an effective one, the actress responded that she does. Ms Smulders admitted that the ending is "very beautiful and very true to life." The series finale episode is titled "Last Forever" which appears to be suitable when it comes to Ted Mosby's (Josh Radnor) love story that he has been sharing for the past nine seasons.

TV Guide's Mega Buzz report has executive producer Craig Thomas teasing fans about the show being time-jumpy where viewers can see "a lot of the future" and where the cast members are in the end.

The series finale is entitled "Last Forever," which seems appropriate given the epic scope of the love story that Future Ted has been telling for eight-plus seasons. But in typical HIMYM fashion, the finale would have to jump through time, right? The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide has more:

Mr Thomas and his co-creator Carter Bays admitted they have not written the script for the final episode yet but they know what last minute or two of the episode to be like since they already have the ending in their mind for quite some time now. "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 returns with Episode 17 titled "Sunrise" on Monday night, February 3, at 7 p.m. central time on the CBS network.
