How PS Vita Will Work With PS4
Sony PlayStation 4, the highly anticipated next generation console, is set to launch a couple of days from now. But the company already released a software patch that will enable the PS4 to work with a companion device - the PS Vita. PS4 is expected to work seamlessly with the newly launched PS Vita 3.00 System Update of Sony's handheld console.
PS Vita 3.00 System Update
The PS Vita 3.00 System Update also called as the software patch is needed for the PS4 to support the Remote Play functionality. The PS Vita is already compatible with the PS4 Link app with its recent update Nov. 4.
PS4 Link App
The PS4 link app is the newest addition to the PS Vita system's homescreen from the PS Vita 3.00 System Update. Essentially, the PS Link app allows the PS4 to connect with the PS Vita for Second Screen capabilities and Remote Play.
Remote Play
The Remote Play allows users to stream PS4 gameplay and remotely control a PS4 using the PS Vita over WiFi. The Remote Play also allows players to carry on their game even when away from the television set. Currently, majority of the PS4 titles are supported by the Remote Play, except those that require peripheral like the PlayStation Camera.
Unfortunately, when using the two devices, you need to be connected to a local area network through an Ethernet cable as you cannot use Remote Play over 3G. The manufacturer recommends that the PS Vita system is near the actual WiFi access point when in use. Furthermore, there is a chance that the two may not work over a wide area network, as such the two devices should be connected to same WiFi network. Otherwise, a powerful broadband and WiFi must be used for the Remote Play to work over a wide area. The local network area must be configured to allow the PS Vita to access the PS4.
Second Screen Capability
The Second Screen Capability requires an additional device and an app, wherein the app enriches the viewing experience on the television (first screen). The users are allowed to interact with what is viewed on a second device (PS Vita).
How to Install PS Vita 3.00 Update?
You can install the PS Vita system software update by connecting to a PS3 system or a PC, using WiFi and using a PS Vita Card.
