Reports of an HTC One Google Edition started to surface after Google's announcement on promoting the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition with stock Android. New reports claim that the upcoming HTC smart phone will have a very limited availability during its scheduled summer arrival this year.

According to unnamed Pocket Lint sources, the Taiwanese smart phone manufacturer will only release "1% of total sales of the HTC smart phone." Based on HTC's recent announcement on having approximately 5 million in sales for the HTC One, close to 50,000 HTC One Google Edition units will be available.

It appears that HTC decided to launch the stock Android version of the HTC One smart phone and see the outcome on sales. Several Android users are keener on a stock experience compared to the new HTC Sense 5.0 UI and they are hoping that HTC will supply the stock Android on the HTC One.

With what has been done on the reportedly US$650 worth Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition, HTC is anticipated to offer a comparable version with superior smart phone experience. Other reports suggest that HTC is planning as well on releasing the Google Edition on Verizon.

HTC previously dismissed the reports that the company is working on the HTC One "Nexus" Edition. On the other hand, Google claims they are focusing more on the Nexus Edition instead of developing the successor to the hit Nexus 4 smart phone.

Though the Taiwanese company has been exerting a lot on the HTC One, they appear to be uncertain on how to sustain the current success of the smart phone. There is still no official announcement but the HTC One Google Edition release seems bound to happen soon.

HTC has been contacted to give comments on the reports about the new HTC One variant but the Taiwanese company reportedly refused to give further details.
