HTC currently attracts the smart phone consumers with their "Premium Weekend Special" offer in an attempt to boost the HTC One sales. The Taiwanese company wants the consumers to give up their existing smart phone, replace it with the HTC One and they will pay back up to $375 for the upgrade.

The HTC deal is called the "One Phone, One Weekend, One Premium Upgrade" that runs from May 2 to May 5. The offer is reportedly available for consumers residing in Canada and the US.

How the HTC One deal works:

1. Purchase the HTC One smart phone.

2. Go to the HTC trade-up web site: http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/100promo/

3. Enter the promo code "HTC100" and the information on the old smart phone being traded up.

4. HTC will provide a quote on the old smart phone's value.

5. If the consumer accepts the quote, a shipping label will appear for printing for the old smart phone to be sent in.

6. Send the old smart phone to HTC on or before June 15, 2013 and HTC will send back the cash up to $375 in the form of a prepaid Visa card.

The chart on the official HTC web site indicates that Apple iPhone 5 16GB GSM version will net the most cash amount. The iPhone 4S, Blackberry Z10 and Samsung Galaxy S3 follows.

HTC's offer on the HTC One deals with the smart phone's current status in the market battle. The sales and profits of the Taiwanese smart phone manufacturer have been slipping back for more than a year now with other rival companies like Apple and Samsung making the competition hard for HTC.

HTC One features and specs include the 4.7-inch Full HD screen display with 1980x1080p resolution, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2300mAh battery, a rear-facing 4 Ultrapixels camera and the front-facing 2.1MP camera capable of 1080p video recording. The HTC One smart phone runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.
