HTC One X owners are about to receive some disappointing news. The HTC smart phone will no longer receive the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update as the HTC source with Twitter account @LlabTooFeR shared information confirming that the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will be the last update available for the dual-core device.

The reliable source familiar with HTC's plans on the smart phone software updates posted on Sunday, April 21, a Twitter message that reads: "@JaimeMartinez_ No ETAs at the moment... 4.2.2 will be last update for One X."

Google is predicted to make its first introduction on the new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie replacing the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update at the May 2013 Google I/O event in San Francisco, California. The devices getting the latest update has not yet been confirmed but some reports suggest that the Motorola X Phone will be the first smart phone to receive the Android 5.0 version as well as the upcoming LG/Google Nexus 5 smart phone.

The Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will reportedly include basic features that support enhanced social networking in various smart phones, better video chat options, various contacts selection, enhanced performance and the Google Babble which will consolidate all of the news feeds and notifications into one place.

Other possible Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie features are the "Night Mode" that will conserve power, the "Game Mode" for the optimum power desired and the "Reading Mode" that provide no troublesome data connection.

It is now expected that the other HTC smart phones such as One SV and One S will not receive the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update if the latest version will no longer be offered to the HTC One X. However, the HTC One X is reported as one of the smart phones that will receive the current Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update version together with the new Sense 5.
