Huawei Ascend P6 Rumors: Google Edition Smart Phone to Arrive Soon?
The Google Edition is the latest trend in smart phones with HTC and Samsung offering the version on the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. Chinese company Huawei will reportedly be the next one to jump on the bandwagon with the Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition arriving soon.
According to Kevin Ho, Huawei's President on the handset product division, the company is currently in talks about manufacturing the Ascend P6 running on stock Android. "We are working with Google to analyze the possibility of bringing out a Huawei Ascend P6 with Google Edition," Ho shared to Pocket-Lint.
However, the claim on the Google Edition smart phone contradicts Huawei Chairman Richard Yu's statement on the subject during the Ascend P6 announcement. At the launching event in London, Richard Yu declared that the Huawei Emotion UI is much better with a lot of improvements offered compared to the stock Android.
"Emotion UI is better in touch with users' "emotions", the Huawei Chairman stated. The recently unveiled Huawei Ascend P6, measuring at only 6.2mm in thickness, is being considered as the slimmest smart phone created.
Huawei Ascend P6 sports a 4.7-inch screen display with 1280x720p resolution screen, the 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The smart phone is scheduled to be put up for sale in 19 different countries this coming July with a suggested retail price of $590.
Other reports suggest that the Chinese company could offer a more affordable pricing scheme on the Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition compared to the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition smart phones. Android enthusiasts will most likely opt for a low-priced Google Edition smart phone capable of acquiring faster updates.
The Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition could become the first smart phone made available in Europe provided that there is still no scheduled launch in the US. The Google Edition on HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are already available with Sony also rumored to be getting ready in offering the water-resistant Sony Xperia Z smart phone in Google Edition.
