Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev: No More Rain Kiss Scene Between 'Vampire Diaries' Couple Delena Amid #DelenaRainKiss Twitter Campaign

TVD fans who are hoping to see Damon and Elena or "Delena" share a sweet kiss in the rain will be disappointed with Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's response amid the #DelenaRainKiss Twitter campaign. At the 2014 PaleyFest panel for the hit CW TV series, ex-couple Ian and Nina thinks another rain kiss scene may not be a good idea.

Ian, 35, revealed that the weather in Georgia is really cold so shooting a rain kiss scene is not such a good idea. "It was below 30 degrees, and it got so cold the muscles in my jaw froze and I couldn't speak. I looked like I had Bell's palsy," the heartthrob actor recounted at the panel regarding the Delena kiss in the rain scene.

His co-star Nina Dobrev agreed given that she became sick after filming the sweet scene between the TVD characters. "I got icicles in my hair and I got really sick," Nina revealed. According to the Entertainmentwise.com report, Ian Somerhalder even threatened about quitting the show if there is another rain kiss for him to shoot.

"You write another rain kiss and I quit," Ian said to the TVD co-executive producer, Julie Plec. "The Vampire Diaries" stars attended the fan event in Los Angeles as part of promoting the TV series but the two appeared to be keeping their distance from each other.

Another report from the entertainment Web site claimed there were no cozy moments from Ian and Nina at the PaleyFest red carpet unlike his previous appearance with "Lost" co-star and another ex Maggie Grace for the "Lost" reunion.

"Instead the two stars posed separately with Nina looking gorgeous in a ladylike midnight blue midi dress which featured a plunging neckline. With her dark locks left loose and wavy and sultry smokey eye makeup, Nina was looking amazing as was her ex Ian, who scrubbed up well in a dark suit and tie," the Entertainmentwise.com report reads.

Aside from the rain kiss scene, Ian Somerhalder and executive producer Julie Plec also talked about the Damon and Elena relationship in Season 5 at the PaleyFest panel. Ian explained that Damon and Elena have difficulties in having a grown-up conversation because "they keep taking their pants off."

"They recognize the elements of the codependency in their relationship. They need to have legit, adult conversations about it," executive producer Julie Plec added.
