Actor Ian Somerhalder has confirmed on Twitter that he is ready to go back to work for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. However, the 35-year-old TVD star shared that he must do a daddy duty first before heading to his day one of filming on the Atlanta set of the CW TV series.

"Being a Dad... Morning vet visit with moke before heading to my 1st Day of work for SEASON 6 of The Vampire Diaries!" Somerhalder recently posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder. In the shared Instagram image, the heartthrob actor can be seen holding up his baby pet cat Moke for their selfie photo together. Click HERE to see photo.

Ian Somerhalder continued to express excitement on the caption of his Instagram image for the upcoming new season of "The Vampire Diaries." The actor thanked the audience for all of their love and support for the CW TV series and promised to see them at the Comic Con, the 2014 Teen Choice Awards and at the Emmy weekend.

The actor's Emmy Awards post is about the documentary series titled "Years of Living Dangerously" that he worked on. According to the Wet Paint report, Ian Somerhalder is one of the celebrities that participated in Showtime's documentary series investigating on climate change as they traveled around the world.

"Years of Living Dangerously" received two Emmy nominations in the "Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Series" and "Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming" categories. Ian Somerhalder shared to his millions of fans and followers on Twitter and Instagram about the results of his hard work.

"YES!! @YearsofLiving has been nominated for 2 Emmys! SO proud of this team of genius changemakers & honored to be a part of this experience!" Somerhalder tweeted on Friday, July 11. As for his Instagram post, the actor shared a captured image of himself filming "Years of Living Dangerously" while expressing gratitude for their hard work getting recognized. "These stories needed to be told! More to come! I'm so GRATEFUL and PROUD to be part of this series-WOW," the actor wrote as a caption on Instagram. Fans can expect that Ian Somerhalder's next posts on Twitter and Instagram will be about getting back into his vampire character Damon Salvatore for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 which is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, Oct 2, at 8 pm ET/PT on the CW Network.
