Now that Nina Dobrev is already moving on with new beau, Derek Hough, in the dating department, it cannot be helped but ask the question if ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder is brokenhearted about this. The "Vampire Diaries" actor may be a little hurt, but a recent Twitter interaction just proves that he is still in good terms with ex-girlfriend Nina.

Recently, the ex-couple exchanged supportive Twitter messages after Ian Somerhalder received an award from Condé Nast Traveler. The 34-year-old heartthrob expressed on Twitter and Instagram his gratitude for the award and shared an image of himself holding the prestigious award to his millions of fans.

"I'm crazy stupid proud to be in this. Thank you to all for this honor and I look forward to collaborating with all I met last night. Such a monumental moment in my Life. Ms Dobrev was obviously impressed with Ian's latest accomplishment so she posted a congratulatory message on her Twitter account @ninadobrev. The message reads: "@iansomerhalder VISIONARIES Award?!? Thats amazing+in such good company. Frieda Pinto,President of Mexico Etc."

"@ninadobrev @Condenasttraveler Awwww!Thank you NINA-thank you for the love&support.Truly. Xo Ian," the actor wrote in response to Nina's tweet. The social media interaction between the ex-couple continued with the 24-year-old brunette beauty posting the message that reads: "Xo Ian."dedsagea'@ninadobrev aitter account @ninadobrev about it. his gratitude for the award and shared an image to his milli"@Condenasttraveler Recognizes you for your relentless outreach+using it to change the world as you have+will continue to do. It is really nice to know that even though Ian and Nina's relationship did not work out, friendship works just fine between them. An EntertainmentWise report suggests that Ian may not have a hard time accepting the fact that reconciling with Nina Dobrev already looks dim with "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancer and choreographer, Derek Hough, entering the picture.

"So with Ian and Nina on such good terms despite being exes, we don't think Ian would have an issue with the claims that Nina is in a relationship with 'Dancing With The Stars' Derek Hough following the suggestions made by E! News that the actress, who plays Elena and the DWTS pro, are in a 'somewhat serious' relationship with each other," the report reads.
