The recent interaction between Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough on social networking sites Instagram and Twitter caused dating reports to circulate on the Internet. It appears Derek Hough is replacing Ian Somerhalder in Nina's heart after calling the "Vampire Diaries" actress "babe" on Twitter.

Nina Dobrev expressed in a series of Instagram posts how proud and happy she was for new boyfriend, Derek Hough, after he won the Outstanding Choreography award at the 2013 Emmys on Sunday, Sept. 22. "@Derekhough!!!!!!!! #EMMYWINNER I can't express in 140 characters how unbelievably excited+incredibly proud I am of you. You deserve this :)," Dobrev wrote on her Instagram account ninadobrev as a caption to Derek's image holding his award.

Ms Dobrev shared another Instagram photo of Derek with his sister, Julianne Hough, and posted the message: "@juleshough You looked absolutely STUNNING last night! @derekhough I wish I wasnt filming so I could have been there to celebrate w/u guys!"

Lastly, the 24-year-old brunette beauty posted a third Instagram photo with the caption: "@derekhough Those of us touched by your light got to watch you brighten up the rest of the world. Keep shining!" The "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancer simply responded to Nina's congratulatory messages on his Twitter account @derekhough with: "Your the best babe."

"TVD" fans got their hearts broken when Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder ended their 3-year relationship last May. Now, hopes that the ex-couple will reconcile appear to be dim, as Derek Hough entered the picture.

According to a Us Weekly report, Nina and Derek are "totally into each other." An anonymous source shared, "Nina was hanging a lot with Derek's sister Julianne. Then she fell for him. Derek is smitten with Nina. He said he hasn't felt this way for a girl in a long time. Everyone approves!"

The report further added that while Mr Hough was at the Kari Feinstein Emmys Style Lounge on Thursday, Sept. 19, he specifically requested shoes "for his girlfriend." An eyewitness revealed to the magazine that Derek sent a text message to Nina asking for her shoe size.

The new couple was spotted as well getting cozy with each other at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood while watching a magical performance. Even though Nina and Derek deny the dating reports, anonymous sources have confirmed to E!News that the two are now officially an item.

One source claimed that Nina and Derek started dating in August, while another source dished that the couple's relationship is "already somewhat serious." In the mean time, the rep of Derek Hough refused to give a comment, while Nina's rep could not be contacted.
