Ian Somerhalder: 'Vampire Diaries' Actor And Girlfriend Nikki Reed Add New 'Family' Member, 'Twilight' Actress Adopts A Cat
Couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed recently welcomed a new addition to their "family." The TVD actor and his girlfriend introduced to their fans through Instagram and Twitter their "new baby girl," a cat that "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed adopted from an animal shelter.
Ian and Nikki have been dating for only a couple of months but the pair continues to expand their family. Nikki Reed, 26, shared on her Instagram account iamnikkireed an adorable image of herself snuggling to her new and still unnamed cat.
"Went to the animal shelter today to give some love to the babies living in cages who don't have homes and ended up adopting this little girl! What should we name her?" the actress posted as a caption to the Instagram image. Click HERE to see photo.
"The Vampire Diaries" star shared about his girlfriend's announcement on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder. "iamnikkireed's photo http://i.instagram.com/p/uMTKycM9NK/ The newest addition to the family!Holy shit this little GIRL is amazing! PLEASEAdopt Adopt Adopt," the 35-year-old heartthrob actor posted on Thursday, Oct. 16, to his over 5 million Twitter followers.
According to a Hollywood Life report, this is not the couple's first "baby" adoption. Ian Somerhalder previously adopted a horse that they named Eagle and shared the news as well on social media.
Aside from cats, the actor is also known to have Nietzsche, a dog that he rescued and adopted one year ago. Ian Somerhalder shared an Instagram image that shows how Nietzsche celebrated her first birthday with the actor.
"A day with 3 of the most beautiful ladies in the universe," Somerhalder's post on Twitter reads. The image shows the actor with Nietzsche, his girlfriend Nikki Reed and her dog. "Congrats to our little [Neitzsche] here-1 year ago today, to the minute, you brought 5 beautiful puppies into this world...thank you for your amazing contribution to all of our lives," the actor further wrote as a caption to the Instagram image. Meanwhile, the couple was spotted last Friday, Oct. 10, heading off to Atlanta, Georgia where Ian Somerhalder films "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. Fans can catch Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore in the hit supernatural TV series that airs Thursday nights on the CW Network.
