"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will kick off with the answer to the major question of where Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) went after the Other Side collapsed in the previous season finale. Additionally, actor Ian Somerhalder gave a preview of what his vampire character's driving force in life will be when the CW TV series returns.

The 35-year-old TVD star teased in an Entertainment Weekly report that Damon may have only said a temporary goodbye to Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 finale episode titled "Home" because the Salvatore vampire will feel the need to return to the love of his life in the brand new season.

"He'll go through every length to make that happen. It's a driving force in his life. Damon doesn't give a s--t about very much except his home, his brother, and his girl," Somerhalder teased. The actor added that his character is not even heartbroken with what happened to him and Bonnie.

Ian Somerhalder further revealed that the fans will see a pissed off Damon Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 because he and Bonnie are stuck in a place that they do not want to be in. "He feels the need to get back to his family. They're trying everything. They're Scooby-Doo-ing that s--t like crazy," the actor shared.

When asked about the Damon-Bonnie or "Bamon" relationship in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, Ian Somerhalder admitted that the two characters will bond as a result of their time together even though they seem to really hate each other. As for Elena, her life in the beginning of the new season will be filled with pain because she lost her boyfriend, her best friend and her hometown Mystic Falls due to the Travelers' anti-magic boundary spell.

Actress Nina Dobrev teased that her character will be leaning on the shoulders of Caroline (Candice Accola) and Alaric (Matt Davis) as she grieves for Damon and Bonnie. However, the 25-year-old CW star revealed that there will come a time Elena decides to shut the two of them out for a little while.
